Programs
Kindercolors’ reading programs encompasses five areas of reading instruction in phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary instruction, and comprehension.
Each readng program is age appropriate and is tailored to the student's current reading level.
In our Reading programs students will learn:
• Early reading readiness skills and phoneme awareness to identify and manipulate the
individual sounds at the start, middle or end of a spoken word.
• Phonics instruction and an understanding of the relationship between letters and spoken
sounds and will learn how to blend them to produce words.
• Decoding skills and how to sound out words and will learn consonants, vowels and word blends
for building fluency.
• Sight words and vocabulary instruction through oral and written reading activities.
• How to develop comprehension skills to understand the written text that they have read.
• How to use graphic organizers as story maps to aid them in recalling content for answering
questions, understanding sequence of events, identifying plot of the story and for
summarizing important concepts of the text they have read.
Individual one on one classes are also available by scheduled appointment.
